It’s time for your weekly Belly Bites 😋
This week’s topic is one close to my heart 🫶
Singapore’s sushi scene is a paradise for every craving, you’ll never run out of options here!
Find Sushi that melts in your mouth ✨
My favourite Sushi joints that won’t break the bank 🌸
A different kind of cake for dessert afterwards 🍰
🌟 Foodie Spotlight
Serving up top-notch sashimi and nigiri in a casual and comfortable setting, here is…
Sushi Zushi 🍣
Sushi Zushi at Funan brings an omakase-style experience to casual dining, serving sushi pieces directly over the counter for that authentic touch ⛩️
What makes it unique is that every sushi is served in pairs - perfect for you and your +1 or just doubling down on the exquisite meltiness of the freshest seafood.
We went with the chef’s recommendations and were wowed by the variety of bluefin tuna cuts, each with its own depth of flavour and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The uni was another standout - fresh, creamy, and briny in the best way possible. Together, they showed off the restaurant’s focus on quality seafood and made the experience feel special without being intimidating ✨
🖐️ Top Picks of The Week!
You might have heard of these places, here are a few of my favourites!
Standing Sushi Bar 🍱 (Link)
Standing Sushi Bar has built a loyal following with its affordable sushi and unbeatable daily promos! Tuesdays are a crowd-puller with 50% off nigiri and sashimi, making it one of the best-value sushi deals in town. For a fuller meal, I always opt for their Mount Omoto Kaisendon, finishing off the last mouthfuls of your rice with a Yuzu-Ochazuke broth. Great for a casual sushi fix that won’t break the bank.
Sushiro 🐟 (Link)
Sushiro is Japan’s largest conveyor belt sushi chain, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a hit here too 🇯🇵
From the Ultimate Triple Bluefin Tuna to the juiciest Big Red Shrimp, the variety is impressive, and the prices are hard to beat. Fun, casual, and perfect for indulging in plate after plate without guilt. Cheapest plates start at $2.30!
En Sushi 🍲 (Link)
En Sushi is a cosy spot offering quality sushi and izakaya-style bites at reasonable prices. Their Bara Chirashi Don from the Executive Lunch Sets is a standout, loaded with fresh, diced sashimi and bursts of roe, while the Nigiri Teishoku offer you a wide variety of sushi to savour - from salmon to tuna and tamago!
Koji Sushi Bar 🥢 (Link)
Koji Sushi Bar keeps it simple with fresh, well-executed sushi at wallet-friendly prices. Their sushi sets start from just 5 pieces - with seafood at the highest quality. Opt for their selection of donburi such as the Sashimi Rice Bowl, an assortment of fish over Japanese rice, and you’ve got a fuss-free lunch that hits the spot every time.
🗞️ What’s Newsworthy
The Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 is almost here, and mooncake season is in full swing 🌕✨
This year’s sets are looking extra festive and unique - from classic baked lotus paste to snow-skin creations with modern twists. Whether you’re gifting or indulging, there’s plenty to choose from!
🍾 Raffles Hotel – elegant gift boxes featuring their iconic Champagne Truffle Snow-Skin
🥮 Patisserie La Lune – handcrafted, flaky mooncakes filled with custard and even matcha red bean!
🟡 Ding Bakery – best known for their melt-in-your-mouth goodies, their traditional baked mooncakes are rich, fragrant, and beautifully packaged for gifting

🥳 That’s a Wrap!
