🌟 Foodie Spotlight

Running out of lunch spots to hit with your colleagues in the CBD? I’ve got just the spot for you…

Movida @ Raffles City!

Movida, a new Spanish concept hailing from Melbourne, has introduced a San Sebastian-inspired lunch set that’s easy on the wallet, with prices starting from $29. Available daily from 12pm to 3pm, the menu offered choices like 2 tapas + 1 main for $29, 4 tapas + 1 main for $35, or 5 tapas + 1 main for $40 🍤

We went with the 4 tapas + 1 main option, which meant sampling 8 tapas between two pax. The standouts for us were the Tuna Tartare, fresh and bright with just the right amount of zest, and the Gambas al Ajillo, sizzling with garlic and olive oil. Together, they showed off the punchy flavours Movida does so well, and made the lunch set feel like real value ♨️

🖐️ Top Picks of The Week!

You might have heard of these places, here are a few of my favourites!

Hyang-To-Gol @ Raffles City 🍲 (Link)

Hyang To Gol Korean Restaurant runs a weekday lunch special, priced at only $12.90++! Each day features a different dish - from Seafood Beancurd Soup on Monday to Spicy Stir-fried Pork on Thursday.

All their sets come with a spread of Korean banchan - kimchi, pickled cucumber, and other small bites that rounds out the meal nicely.

Burma Social @ Tras Street 🍖 (Link)

If you’ve never had Burmese food with a modern twist, Burma Social is a fun place to start. Their executive lunch set (from $40++) felt like a steal, and honestly, the four-course option was more than enough to fill us up.

Be sure to try their cold soba with yuzu–peanut butter sauce, so refreshing! Starters kept things interesting too, from tofu steak with Laotian herbs to juicy BBQ pork ribs and garlicky prawns.

Caffe Fernet @ Customs House 🍝 (Link)

Caffe Fernet’s weekday lunch set (2-course from $40, 3-course from $46) was a solid deal for the quality. We started with the Burrata with pistachio pesto, then moved on to mains - the Malfadine cacio e pepe was spot-on, while the crab aglio e olio with uni sauce were worth the top-up.

Of course, you’ve got to save space for dessert. I highly recommend the tiramisu, providing that balance of sweet to your otherwise extremely savoury meal.

Chengdu Bowl @ Raffles Place 🍜 (Link)

Chengdu Bowl’s lunch set (from $13.80++) is all about bold Sichuan flavours without the hefty price tag. We went for the Mala Beef Noodles, with tender slices of beef in a broth that packed both heat and numbing spice.

The Mapo Tofu Rice Bowl was another winner - silky tofu, savoury sauce, and just the right amount of kick. Each set comes with sides and soup, making it hearty enough for a weekday lunch.
